From pleasure horses to reiners and working cowhorses to hunter under saddle, Lisa Guffey brings to the Star H team a wonderfully broad, diverse background in the equine industry. Lisa also has a strong working knowledge of the equine insurance business which Star H utilizes through Lisa’s position as the North Carolina Office Manager.

Lisa is never willing to rest on her laurels, and in 2008 earned her designation as Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR). Lisa helps clients with all aspects of equine insurance – farm/ranch, commercial liability and mortality insurance.
Lisa grew up in Northern Ohio with parents who trained and competed avidly in AQHA events specializing in reiners and pleasure horses. To follow her passion for horses, Lisa attended The University of Findlay, and then worked fitting sale horses as well as accompanying horses on overseas travel for a major Thoroughbred Farm in Lexington, Kentucky.

Now, Lisa and husband Jeff live in Lexington, North Carolina where they enjoy not only showing horses in events such as Hunter Under Saddle and Working Cowhorse, but also enjoy fitting and showing young horses. Besides the horses, Lisa enjoys training her Toy-Aussie, Boomer, in Agility.

Lisa and “Boomer” (Reynolds Texas Boom) came home from the 2010 CPE National Agility Event with two National Championships and one Reserve National Championship!  Boomer was 12″ National Champion in Wild Card, 12″ National Champion in Jumpers, and 12″ Reserve National Champion in Full House.
